The Adventures of F.L. Mingo

Frustrated being penned up in Mark Dean's back yard, I fled Missoula to travel the country and absorb some new atmospheres!

We're Not In Kansas Anymore...

...so why in the hell was there a tornado attempting to sweep me away to Oz? I'm just fine not encountering any Wicked Witches... I was just minding my own business wandering through North Central Misssissippi today when a siren went off alerting me to a possible tornado, although I think I got the idea when the rain went from a vertical to horizontal motion and I nearly got blown to the other side of the town. The tornado never got close enough for me to get a photo of it myself but I stopped to take a closer look at two trees that got uprooted during the storm. Guess it was a good thing I hid from the storm... it may have done this to me. *gulp*

Feelin a little Moody, but check out the BABES!

Wow, what a day I had on Galveston Island! I asked the locals about the cool hang out locations and was told that there was a place that I would fit in perfectly. It happened to be Moody Gardens, a mystical rain forest inside a pyramid. And wouldn't you know it the first thing I get to lay my eyes upon were some hot pink tails. You don't get to see pink of this caliber in Missoula. My heart was a flutter from the way these babies could contort their necks. If only the glass weren't preventing me from hanging out with them... I spent a good hour or so gawking at these hottie foreign flamingos from from South America, and made sure to correct a minor oversight on the otherwise informative signs. I could have spent all day with my new found friends but there was an entire ecosystem to explore! There were all kinds of plants and strange animals to see. Some of it was pretty Dumb (like the Dumb Cane plants... which are surprisingly interesting, but only if you're a biologist) I felt at home here, and wanted to stay (I'm sure nobody would notice one additional flamingo on display- even if I'm plastic) but there's just too much more I still need to see, so the adventure must go on. And go on I did, to the beach. Running through the sand and dipping my rod legs into the Gulf water was incredible! It was was as much fun as the rain forest, but it lacked the flamingo hotties, and what's a beach without babes to stare at? (the answer to that is: A fun place to place to play frisbee... duh) I finished off my day with a breathtaking sunset. Can it get any better than this? Only one way to find out.... so it's time to get back to my travels and leave this wonderful place. But I will come back... if only just to get me some tail.
